I remember coming across a terrain generation library/software a few months ago, but being an idiot I forgot to bookmark it. The video I saw was of a graphical program that could generate various noise modules, combine them together with different functions, and produce a heightmap terrain as a result. What stood out was the UI used to add the noise modules together. Each noise module would have it's own box, and if you wanted to perform a function on it, you would drag in that function and connect the output of the noise module to the input of the noise function.

You ended up with a tree of modules and functions, and at the end they would all merge and create the terrain you saw above. You could modify the noise parameters in real time and the terrain would change accordingly. I think there were functions for generating the textures as well.

If anybody recognises this, please tell me what it's called! Thanks.

Terragen? (www.planetside.co.uk/)

No, not that. It's a similar idea though. The one I'm looking for looked a lot less complex than that.
