I was just wondering how some of the game audio guys might set their spaces up. I know a ton of home recording studio guys, but I'm curious to hear what your guys' room setups are!
I work out of a second bedroom in my house, which isn't treated for acoustics or anything.

Pro Tools 10
JBL LSR4328P Monitors
Presonus Firestudio Audio Interface
Presonus Digimax 8 ch ADAT extender
Toft 2ch Microphone Preamp
Alphatrack Single Fader Controller
And an array of microphones and various instruments from my old recording days.
I do mostly FX editing work for film and TV, but I've been breaching slowly into the game side lately. I also do some dialog editing and a small amount of Foley, though without any walking surfaces I'm mostly limited to props and cloth passes.
If any of you wanna share what your workspaces look like and what you use, I'm curious to hear about it!

Nice idea for a thread.
I have my little studio at home too, mounted some DIY basotect panels to get rid of some nasty bouncy reverbs and trap low-mid frequencies.
Love having everything under one roof, but I hope I can move to a bigger place next year, things are getting a bit crammed.
Anyway, here's my gear:
MacBook Pro and additional LCD screen.
Interface: Focusrite Saffire Pro 40.
Monitors: Adam AX8.
Headphones: AKG 271.
DAWs: mostly Ableton Live and Apple Logic Pro.
Keys: Alesis Fusion 8 HD.
Some controllers including Akai APC-40 and E-MU Xboard 49.
Microphones: nothing fancy, a Zoom H2 for foley and field recordings.
A small selection of guitars plus a bass.
Lots of sampling instruments.
I do music and sound design for animations, documentations, trailers, commercials and of course games - that's what I started with, too!

I'm hoping once I finally find a more permanent living place I'll be able to do some treatment. I've had a secret love affair for Adams ever since I listened to a set of those A7s. Gotta love that tweeter! But the RMC in the JBL's won me over, considering I've been in junk spaces forever. How do you like yours?

I never was much of an interior designer, but I always love seeing how people light their studios. My first home studio I had lit with japanese paper lanterns, which kept everybody kinda calm. Place looks good man! Sounds like you've got a beast of a PC.

When you do, keep an eye on eBay etc., sometimes people offer scraps of Basotect for a fraction of the money you'd pay for the panels in store. It's lightweight, fire-proof and doesn't pose a threat to your lungs.
I bought some plywood panels, cheap white cloth, stapled everything together and hung them up like pictures - it's not the prettiest solution, but does a great job and was pretty cheap.

I've got the AX8 for about half a year now, using them daily.
When I considered buying new monitors, I decided against using a sub and buying a stereo pair with bigger woofers instead - I really need to hear stuff under 50 Hz as I produce a lot of electronic weirdness lately.
So I made a reference CD with tracks of different genres whose sound I know by heart and went to the store to check different larger speakers.
The Adams caught my ear because of the tight low-end and clear highs produced by their ribbon tweeters. The KRKs of a similar price class sounded great too, but just a little bit more boomy and dull in comparison.
The Genelecs of that size had more mid-presence, but were a lot pricier and didn't have the same lovely resolution in the highs.
So I ended up with the Adams, and I'm still very happy with them, great value for the money.

Good advice on the panels! I was planning on making my own anyway, but I'll keep an eye out when the time comes. Last time I listened to some KRK's they were really muddy in the low end, but I've heard they've vastly improved since then. I've always been a fan of scrapping the sub for some bigger woofers too, that's why I got my JBL's in the 8in.
