raytracing fractals

Ok -> questions.

1) how fast would it go on a gtx 480 (would it be feesable for a "fractal game")

2) does anyone know how you code it, and how challenging is it?


My experience ->

Ive done a bit of distance field work (im guessing visualizing fractals is similar) and understand implicit functions,
just not fractals.
Ive made a landscape and raymarched it, with a few bugs, but they were pretty cool ones :)
I imagine the fractal visualizer would have a few strange quirks to it too.
