No, its connected to one of those USB Cell Modems, the kind you buy for laptops when you travel a lot. We bought it from verizon with the plan, theres no hacking or anything.

You could try it without the switch but to me it sounds like your ISP is blocking some of the content on this site. You should try calling your ISP's technical support and see if they can give you any answers.
