I'm working on visualization software (like Milkdrop in WinAmp) and I've decided to go with MFC (since I need some nice GUI) and Direct2D.
I know I could use regular Direct2D, however MFC has its own approach (AFX_WM_DRAW2D message and it's own classes for brushes etc...) and I find it more elegant. The questions are:

1) Is it possible to turn off validating rect in each draw, so I can get continuous redrawing (like in games)?
2) Is it possible to turn off the V-Sync?

It would be really nice, however I'm afraid the classical Direct2D approach will have to satisfy my needs.
