Sprite flipping with DirectX?

I'm writing a 2D game engine with Xna 4.0, and the renderer uses SpriteEffects to flip tiles on the tile map so I can use less tiles. The problem is that i want to make my map editor with DirectX, but I can't recreate my map renderer without SpriteEffects in DirectX. So my question is, how can I draw flipped textures?

To flip the texture you can just apply an negative scale factor to it. For example to flip on the Y axis you can just do this Scale(1,-1);
