Weird brace in D3D11 headers

I was just browsing d3d11.h to look for members inside D3D11_BUFFER_DESC for my encapsulating class, and then I noticed an out of place curly brace inside the header just under the declaration of D3D11_BUFFER_DESC. Does anyone have anything to say about that?

see up near the top... there will be something like
#ifdef __cplusplus
extern "C" {
#endif
