.lib Dependency question

When you build MyCustom.lib, you don't link it with anything, since there's no real linking going on. I don't know if you can include a statically linked lib inside another statically linked lib.

If you could, then you wouldn't be asking this question I suppose

my custom.lib isnt complete until the added fucionality of the other public .lib is used.


Your custom lib doesn't link with the calls in the public lib. So, you could be making calls to functions that don't exists, but it will still create your library. Once you try to link that library into an executable, then it will fail since it won't be able to find those calls.
