Specific skinning

Hello everyone. I have such interesting task. I have a sausage which consists of some segments. These segements are connected by joints of physx engine. I need to create a render part for that sausage. I'd like to create smooth render. As i understand skinning isn't very good for that because it produces concave curves between segments but i need convex ones for smooth sausage. :) Thanks.

P.S. I don't know how to post pictures on that forum but i think you understand what i mean. :)
