I'm currently doing something in D3D, and have generated a set of reference images in Maya for comparison. I'm looking to match Maya camera settings to D3D's projection matrix.

When the camera position/Focus/FOV/Aspect Ratio are equal, the images are pretty similar. However, there's still this aperture setting in Maya.

What exactly does this setting represent?

Look at MFnCamera::getViewParameters. Aperture apparently modifies the viewing frustum (viewing angle). I also found an example (ribExport.cpp) in Maya Help, which uses it - they also assemble a matrix from a MFnCamera manually.

Thank you for looking into it.

Since I already have a FBX importer, I decided to just export the camera from Maya and use KFbxCamera::ComputePerspective on it.
