Turning Textured Quad into Texture2D

Hi All,

I have an idea floating around in my head which will greatly simplify coding of my little project.

I am wondering if it is possible to do the following in XNA. I am getting stuck at step 4 below...

1) Load Texture2D from external file
2) Create Textured quad using this Texture2D as texture.
3) Stretch, skew, rotate, whatever the Textured quad by moving its corners
4) Save transformed Textured Quad as new Texture2D

All of these needs to happen offscreen.

I'm thinking something might work if I can create a Color array from the textured quad and Texture2D.SetData from it. I have done this before when copying a section of a Texture2D into a smaller Texture2D, but this did not involve quads...

Hope someone can help :)
