Written by one of the world's top game designers, this book describes the deepest and most fundamental principles of game design, demonstrating how tactics used in board, card, and athletic games also work in video games. A Practical Guide to Indie Game Marketing, by Joel Dreskin Marketing is an essential but too frequently overlooked or minimized component of the release plan for indie games. A Practical Guide to Indie Game Marketing provides you with the tools needed to build visibility and sell your indie games. With special focus on those developers with small budgets and limited staff and resources, this book is packed with tangible recommendations and techniques that you can put to use immediately. As a seasoned professional of the indie game arena, author Joel Dreskin gives you insight into practical, real-world experiences of marketing numerous successful games and also provides stories of the failures. View it here. An Architectural Approach to Level Design This is one of the first books to integrate architectural and spatial design theory with the field of level design. The book presents architectural techniques and theories for level designers to use in their own work. It connects architecture and level design in different ways that address the practical elements of how designers construct space and the experiential elements of how and why humans interact with this space. Throughout the text, readers learn skills for spatial layout, evoking emotion through gamespaces, and creating better levels through architectural theory. View it here. I'd really like to have my account deleted, and if it's not possible I would like to have most of the information either erased or changed. I would like my username to be changed to something else, because I still use it and my younger self was pretty stupid making my internet presence and reputation pretty bad. I'd really appreciate it. Thanks![/background]

If you really want to scrub then you can access your profile and remove all the public information. You can also change your username yourself as well. We don't delete accounts.

I'd probably be a bit embarrassed too if I looked back at some of the older posts I made when I first came around here. Everyone has those. We were all young and stupid once...

*checks out Gaiiden's old posts*

It is becoming an increasingly valid concern though as companies are more and more tempted to do a background search with your name, which can compromise you getting a job or whatnot. That said, unless what you said is extremely controversial or has been made very public, nobody except perhaps your stalker will bother tracing you down to your Gamedev posts, that takes way too much time and energy.

I'm eternally grateful that I just missed the cut-off date for Facebook being a thing when I was in high school (it didn't come around till my second year of college). LiveJournal was bad enough; I can't imagine the sheer amount of hormonal, emo BS that would've been attached to my online presence.

Yup that annoys me most. To be honest, I was pretty mature for a 13 year old, but still think that I have said some pretty stupid things and I look back and laugh at it.
