How to simulate daytime in directx?

hi,
Indeed i want to know how can i create an application that simulate daytime.
As we know, daytime simulatation has many aspects such as the position of sun or moon, color shifting in varius time,rendering sun ,moon ,stars and cloud simulation.
I want to know whether there are examples or articles?

For this purpose, I recommend Game Engine Gems 1 chapters 15 and 16. It describes a practical implementation of the commonly used Preetham sky model and related items, like how to compute the position of the sun and the moon. To me, these articles are "the" reference on the topic.

I found this book, and read those chapters, and were very good.
