go to http://www.itlibrary.com/ free archives a couple of books on c++, also try http://www.informit.com/
The Wrox Press books seemed the best to me. They start at the very beginning...
Learning from other guy's sourcecodes help very much, too.

Yo Melo,
well, doe you have source codes for simple games?
Sig
Im learning c++ too and i found the source for a pretty good tetris game if you want it i can send it to you...
i would also recommend the Programmers Heaven cds there are 2 of them.... they contains much info about 2d/3d graphics, tutors, demo effects, also other languages like c/c++, assembler, pascal and basic....
Try www.codewarrioru.com classes don''t start until Febuary, but there free!

Yeah... As MELO said, get some source code and try 2 understand it..
At first I and the same problem (also experienced in VB, but no idea how 2 program in C++)
Then I got MELO''s ULTIMATE Tic Tac Toe Source and modified it, tried to comment the code (he''s seems to be too lazy to do) The result was a small Picture Viewer which uses DirectX.
Now I work on my first real game - a "Descent" 2D vertical shooter
So - ask MELO for his Tic Tac Toe - but say that he should finally add comments to his code... I hope he finally does this when somebody other says that...

Greetingz and good luck..!
