Hi all,

I am attempting to use PhysX to add efficient soft body, cloth and fluid simulation to our next game project.

Unfortunately, I can only find good sample source code for all of the above on the 2.8 branch of SDK.

Has the 3.0 code rewrite of PhysX removed support for the above? How come no good sample source code can be found for the above?

Hence my question: if one is to insert into a game the above features, is one better to stick around the 2.8 PhysX SDK?

Many thanks!

Dan

It's there in 3.2 at least - just look in the docs under cloth (which covers soft bodies... odd how they don't call it soft-body but never mind) and particles (including fluid).

I don't use these features myself, but the docs have code fragments, and the SDK ships with examples.

I have used rigid bodies only so far, but I ported my project from 2.8 to 3.0 and kept it up to date with every new version and the only thing removed (afaik) is so-called deformables. But documentation of physx in general is lacking and there isn't even an official forum anymore that I would know of. Edited by Max Power
