How do you perform a contrast manipulation with a proper s shaped curve, similar to the new (not legacy) implementation found in Photoshop?

Hm..

there is so many way to do that..

one is ramp DX and other api support mapping table

other is using prost processing on shader ..

Curve just show how much multiply to that valued pixel.

that's all what you need is make a texture or constant table for 256 level value and then multiply that table to pixel
