Virtual resolution in 2D game (xna / monotouch)

Hi all

Are there any recommended techniques for developing touch apps in a fixed virtual resolution and then having it automatically scale to the device resolution and to translate touches back to the virtual resolution?

This will be a 2D pixel art game.
