Okay, here is the deal I am making a GL voxel engine that means, I render my landscape by software into a pixel array, then I draw it onscreen. Well, now, I want to use poly models too voxel is only for landscape thus, before drawing objects, I need to load the depthbuffer of my landscape into openGL ... and there comes the big question How do I do that (write directly pixels to the depthbuffer)?

Well, I thnik you can use voxel models, I''ve already seen that in a game (Thunder: Offshore).

ORRR, you could always use a homemade Z-BUFFER altough you''ll get some serious performances issues. (bad solution)

ORR, you could ''draw'' your pixel array as colored vertices. (bit better solution)

Hope this will help!
