starting setup C++ OpenGL SDL?

Hi everyone.

 

I want a very basic, long-lasting and flexible setup to make 3D games.

 

Relevant knowledge:

  • good Java, C# and OOP concepts
  • basic C++ and MIPS assembly
  • basic XNA functions (vertex buffers, effect passes, etc.)
  • linear algebra and calculus

 

From some research this looks like a pretty good set up: Visual C++, OpenGL, SDL

 

Should I go ahead with this or is there a better option?

 

Any help is appreciated (^^)v
