What can I do to make 2D sprites appear 3D, like the enemies that are in Donuts3D on the directx SDK? They look excellent, but how can I achieve the same results? I''m no artist, so what I''m doing is
1) creating a geosphere and sticking the texture of the enemy on that
2) hitting print screen, pasting to a paint program and cutting out the sphere
3) repeating, rotation the sphere slightly each time.

Do you think this will come out ok?

I''ll let you know

that is one way to solve it. But i don't think you would achieve any good results.

The best solution is to create the enemy in 3d and then let the 3d software automaticly create you some bitmaps. This requires some skill with 3d creation.
