So there's a lot of content in Dev Journals that certainly can be Articles. But is there a clear line determining what content or type of content should be Dev Journals and what should be in Articles. Frob's journals on State Machine is a good example of a Journal that easily qualifies as an Article!*

*IIRC, frob is migrating those journals to articles, but you get my point.

IMHO an article has a more official appearance and is presented by gamedev and therefor should be correct and valid. Whereas a journal entry is more or less a personal view of a single developer, which most not be valid or correct :)

There can be a ton of overlap between Journals and Articles.   But with Journals it is expected that you use it to write about time-sensitive issues, development progress, notes on things you picked up, etc.   While some people can post some pretty great journal posts that look exactly like articles, that's not the intention of the system.

With articles we are looking for more purely informational topics.. algorithms, code, design info, etc.   Articles that are journal posts can be reposted in the article archive where we will attempt to organize them and group alike sources.
