Hi! I am interested in making an isometric game engine. I am pretty good at Visual Basic, and am currently taking a C++ class. I have never worked with any type of game engine before, and have no idea how to implement one, even after I make it. Does anyone know of any good books or tutorials that assume a knowledge of programming, but not one of any type of game engines or how they work? Sorry to bother you with such a simple question. Thanks! Jordan S.

Well if your looking for something in C++, try "ISOMETRIC GAME PROGRAMING WITH DIRECTX 7.0" The ISBN is 0-7615-3089-4 . Its an excellent book, that explans the concepts very well.

A few sites are:

www.isohex.net
www.isometrix.org

Theres more but its too early for me.......
