Hey guys.I''m quite new to programming and am still learning.I''m currently making a racing game in Visual Basic.I was wondering would any of you know how to make a race engine,y''now which decides who finishes where and who crashed etc. Hope you can help.

well, usually the track is divided into sectors, so that you can tell if one racer is on a sector that is closer to the finish than other sectors. the added advantage to this is that if you know what sector your racer is on, you only have to perform collision tests against walls in that sector. well, actually, the advantage is the reverse (you get lap data along with your collision system) but that''s how it''s done.
