Hi,

Is there any way to randomly create shapes in a bubble shooter game like those guys do? or it is mandatory to previously design the levels with a level editor?

Thanks

Well, that really depends on how your data structure that holds the map or shapes.

but in general, they probably have predefined structures. However of course it is possible to randomize the map, but then you probably wont get any recognizable shapes out of it.

I would use a sort of random-seed function that generates repetetive 'stride' patterns, skipping along possible positions in repeating increments, possibly incrementing and decrementing the position increment by some other pattern, to generate more elaborate shapes. Define simple shapes using sin/cos to create N-sided polygon shapes, or points in space, something like a spirograph, with radius oscillating at different ratios with angle. Just some ideas.
