"Scene Manager" ?

i''m coding a 3D Engine, now it only can do free camera, billboard & model loading, but here is my question : Am i really need a "Scene Manager" for my 3D Engine ?? If yes, is it only good for Big games (huge map and huge amount of objects) ? How about some small games (small map and limited objects) ?? I know nothing about this so i just code something quiet easy 1st (like camera/billboard/model). Thanks !

I think you need scene manager chen you have a hierarchy of objet like

- World
+--Tree
+--House
+-- Chair


If the wiever can''t see the house, he can''t see the chair in the house. I think a quake3 games don''t require it (but ir is always good to have).

Why English rules?? C pas très malin tout ça!

A scene manager can be usefull also to optimize your engine
the scene will be responsible to sort the object so the minimum change in render state will be needed.
