I see alot of kids 13..14 year olders come on and talk about this huge rpject they have planned out and have written a storyline and I just laugh becasue I have been there. It takes alot of exp to know what your getting yourself into.

but if you are older and have seen allthis you know what I mean.

I like to program games in the way that it takes very little work to get something up and running and then see how faar I can take it and atleast I have something I can show and not just 100 pages of storylines and ideas

right now I can''t seem to figure out why I can compile this bouncing ball java applet and run it within forte fine but on my web page nothing shows up
http://www.mattherb.com now with CATCAM!

Don''t stifle ambition. Let people have their dreams. Everyone has to start somewhere.
people should do what they want but it just became silly back when I was using genesis3d . once a week there was a post like

HI. I MADE A GAME AND I NEED TO PROGRAM IT. I DOWNLOADED GENESIS3D AND WHAT DO I DO NOW????????????????????????

OR

I WROTE A STORYLINE TO A GAME AND I NEED PROGRAMMERS, ARTISTS, MUSICIANS TO MAKE THE GAME.

btu back when I was 13 I am sure I wrote things like that
>>>back when I was 13 I am sure I wrote things like that<<<

I never did... of course back when I was 13, they didn''t have computers. I feel really old now...
well, you are oldrod....

When i was 13 I was hacking out lousy text adventure games on (ala Zork) on my wickedly powerful commodore 64.

When I was 13 I could be found eating glue with dipsticks... mmmmmm...
You forgot the nebula device (http://www.radonlabs.de I think). It''s a professionnal, free, crossplatform and open source 3D engine. Right now it works on windows and linux (and maybe other ones). It uses Tcl for scripting, OpenGL for rendering, as well as D3D (7 IIRC) on Windows.

Quite a nice engine, if a little difficult to figure out.

I might add that Nomads, the commercial title being developed by Radon Labs using the Nebula Device, won best of show at a recent major European enterainment expo/convention.
