viewport matrix

What are the dimension of the viewport matrix? 4x1, 1x4, 2x2? And what do the numbers stand for? (Sorry, I know someone already asked that, but I forgot)

All OpenGL matrices are 4x4 but you didn''t specify an API so I dunno... I''ve never done Direct3D or Glide successfully...

To my knowledge in oGL the vieport is just 4 integers defining the upper left corner (x,y) of your viewport, its width and its height...
