I've been comparing physics engines and I really like the destruction features of nVidia APEX. I would like to work the destruction into my game as a central part of gameplay but I was curious if the APEX destruction would even run on CPU when users have ATI cards. And if it won't, what alternatives are there for realtime destruction similar to APEX?

Hi,

yes APEX will run on CPU (except APEX Turbulence).

You can use GPU to accelerate APEX Particles and APEX cloth (but it will also run on CPU as well)

Oh cool, so I could have GPU supported APEX destruction at a higher resolution so it looks awesome and still be able to depend on the destruction actually being there on ATI hardware. Awesome.
