Wings by Daedalus

What is it? An artificial intelligence library for use in games. A set of tools to help you incorporate high quality intelligent behavior into your games without the headaches.
Who are we? A team of five Computer Science majors at CSU Sacramento sponsored by Josh Klint of Leadwerks Software and advised by Dr. Ahmed Salem, Associate Professor at CSUS.
What do we want? Game developers (that's you!) to share your experiences and priorities with respect to gameplay and artificial intelligence. Your feedback will help us shape the Wings library. Please take our six question survey:

If you have any questions or concerns prior to taking the survey, please feel free to post them here.

The survey questions are:

  • Describe the kinds of games (genres, styles, etc.) you are interested in creating.
  • What features or AI techniques would be most useful for the games in the previous question?
  • What gameplay features are most important to you in an AI system? Examples: perception, realistic behavior, emergent behavior, coordination between agents.
  • What non-functional feature of an AI system is most important to you? What does that feature (for example usability) mean to you?
  • How should Wings be documented? How important are expanded examples or tutorials relative to simple documentation?
  • Write a brief narrative describing an AI function or behavior you want in a game engine, and how you would use it.
