The videos are from a group has put together a 2D platformer game, "Frogatto and Friends". The videos show off a 2D map editor that can be run during gameplay.

I would not call it "far superior than Unity". Their tech looks interesting, and for 9 people it is pretty cool that they built a cross-platform game leveraging existing tools... but nowhere near as comprehensive or broadly useful as Unity.
