Hi,

Quick question here.  I know that you can't mix shader models (e.g. 2.0 vertex and 3.0 pixel) on the same rendering object.  But, I'm wondering if you can use different shader models for different objects in the same scene.  Say, for instance, I use SM 2.0 for my skybox and SM 3.0 for my terrain?

Just out of interest, what benefits are you hoping for by mixing shader models? Performance? Better HW-support?

I must support SM 2.0, but I was hoping to start introducing SM 3.0 concepts where I could.  I could, obviously, recompile the 2.0 shaders as 3.0 but I wanted to avoid including 2 versions of the same thing if I could avoid it.
