I changed the OS of my laptop from Windows 8 to Windows 7, only to find out that i could no longer play Football Manager 2012 because a d3dx9_41.dll is missing from my system. I tried reloading the Windows 7 again, only to get the same system error message. What do i do?

Update your DirectX runtime from here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

Don't worry that this is DirectX 9, it won't overwrite your DirectX 11 in Windows 7. This is because each DirectX version is not a seperset of previous versions, and uses a different set of DLLs.

Direct3D has need of instancing, but we do not. We have plenty of glVertexAttrib calls.
