Shorelins is proud to introduce its first game, Wuli Adventure, for PC. This is a retro 2D action-platformer in the style of the old Capcom/Disney SNES games. This game is currently in development and I would love to hear any thoughts and constructive opinions you might have. Below is some early gameplay footage.

Note that there is no music on the this video as of yet, but we do have an artist from Ocremix providing the soundtrack.

I am also posting here some info about our composer, Meteo Xavier. I have to pick few songs there that will be used as official song for the game:

I am extremely excited about this project and I hope you will be too. Please like the Facebook page, subscribe to the Youtube channel, share your thoughts or just show your support the way you want!

Thank you guys for stopping by this post!

Thanks dragonsoulj ! But you know, you probably won't have to wait the release date because I will release a free playable demo at some point and be sure I will let you know about it. People opinion on the gameplay will surely help me to improve the game.

Glad you like DpakoH! And the musician Meteo Xavier tied up with Wuli Adventure is going to bring a great complementary value to the project.

  • I am posting some thoughts and critics from some members. If  a user don't want me to share his opinion here just let me know and I will remove the lines where he/she is involved.
  • But I thought it would add in therm of criticism.
    user: Segmented
well, one thing i will say is that the hands in the air animation seems to be overused to me

but other than that its great

perhaps thats the style, im not really into capcom stuff so i dunno

    user: shadowisadog+
    yeah

but it looks very good so far

sort of reminded me (not sure why) of hocus pocus lol

    user:shorelins
Grea ! great ! but wait . What do you mean by " hands overused "?

    user:shadowisadog+

    user:Segmented
i dunno, one of the frames of his animation just seems a little wierd to me

    this one \o/ <-

    user:shorelins
Ha .. we are getting technical !... allright there two poses problems here... the ref to the png is the hand when he throws a dagger... and "Segmented" talks about the pose when he falls/jump

    i think

Thanks for the Hocus-Pocus ref ... jes.. he looks the same I should check this game

Thanks Dragonsoulj. Glad I have this beautiful legendary character joining the thread! To Segmented: It is probably weird because I didn't place the arms correctly and/or the drawing is ok but the timing is bad, like the frame is exposed too promptly (3 frame on 30fps), or/and the weird frame does not fit well in the frame sequence so it pops out, it does not fit harmoniously the frame sequence... so yes I have few ideas how to fix it.

Oh and here some little Capcom and old school game study (gathered just few example for fun):

So for the forest study it is just about a perspective choice that can be used in any game, but I found this perspective setup was frequently used by Capcom.

Looks like a really nice game =) is it avaliable to try playing it?

something that I saw was that when throwing knife at the guard, he didn't have any indication that you hit him with a knife, you might have already fixed that, other than that, I want to try it =)

Hey HeroBix! I am happy you like it. I try to do my best do finish all the PR work I have to do in order to go back to the development of the game. I have bunch of stuff to improve according to my friends feedback and then I will release a free playable demo. I will make sure to get your hand on the demo as soon as possible!

You are right about your observations, there is some contact issues I will have to fix. Basically the dagger is deleted before it hits the enemy collision volume.
At this stage no bug is hard to fix, the problem is that there is tons of small stuff to fix... but I will do it but I really want a game very well polished.

It's looking attracting.And your arts,especially the environments,are good.

Cool silkroadgame! Yes I worked very hard on the art to define a style that can be pleasing and at the same time can fit a very creative level design layout. For example I have other themes, like the dungeon ruins that looks cool and since it is in ruins, the level layout can be very flexible since broken stones can fits any shape defined by the level design. So I think it is great to have good art as long as the art doesn't paralyses the level layout.
