OpenGL ARB_internalformat_query

What's the difference between ARB_internalformat_query and ARB_internalformat_query2? Specifically, is the former deprecated or something?


I used OpenGL Loader Generator against core 4.3 and GetInternalformati64v is present but GetInternalformativ is not.


Question 2:


I want to find out what format my texture data should be stored in to avoid having the driver doing things like swizzling during texture loading. Is this the correct way to find this out?

glGetInternalformati64v(GL_TEXTURE_2D, GL_RGBA8, GL_INTERNALFORMAT_PREFERRED, 1, &format);

This seems to return GL_RGBA8 when internalformat is GL_RGBA8, GL_RGBA when internalformat is GL_RGBA, etc...
