Which is more efficient to use in SDL2? SDL_Surface or SDL_Texture?

I'm making a simple platform game using an API named SDL2. And, I was wondering which is more efficient when it comes to speed in my game. SDL_Surface or SDL_Texture? I was trying to find answers in the SDL2 documentation and google but got nothing. Anyone have strong experience in SDL2??

SDL textures, used correctly, should be more efficient than SDL surfaces. You can think of textures as being hardware accelerated, and surfaces as something to be manipulated in main memory.
