Hi,

I am really new to game design so please pardon me for any silly questions etc.

I want to create a single level FPS game for my show reel, i am more inclined towards using UDK and also studying it right now, but i have many    doubts regarding it.

   1. Do i need a separate level designer or its already integrated in UDK?

   2. Can i use the assets provided with UDK freely without any copyright issue?

   3. Do i need to use a seperate 3D software for 3D art or everything like character modeling/animation can be done in UDK?

   Thank You

The main reason people use UDK is because of the strength of it's tools, the core of which is a level editor (a level designer is the person who builds the levels).

For your show reel you can use any and all assets included in UDK.

Assets like character meshes, rigs and animation must be made externally. This is the case with basically every major game engine.

This is not a game design question. Moving to For Beginners. Edited by Tom Sloper
