I am looking for Video Cards with GeForce3 Ti 500. I am able to find only Visiontek Xtasy. How is the performance and feature set of Xtasy? Are there any other cards in the market with the same graphics chip? If so, does someone have a comparison chart between them? Thanks in advance for your great help Arun

www.tomshardware.com ?

The "Ti 500" part of the name will be a Visiontek name for the card. GeForce3 is the name of the graphics chip. There''s quite a few GF3 based cards out there. All fairly level in performance terms (it''s the chip and the memory which count rather than the manufacturer).

Thanks for the reply.

GeForce3 Ti 500 stands for GeForce3 Titanium chip from nVidia. Ti 500 is the most powerful of the latest Titanium series of chips from nVidia. This is the newest chip was released by nVidia only this October. It is built over the GeForce3 architecture. It is faster and has a few additional features.

This is incorrect. The GeForce 3 Ti500 is indeed faster, but it does not have added features. The "new features" of the titanium series (3d textures, shadow buffers etc) are also present in the GeForce 3, but they weren''t enabled in driver releases before the Detonator XP.

Take a look at Tom''s hardware for more information about this.

And don''t waste money on a Ti500 when you can buy a regular GeForce 3 for less. The Ti500''s speed increase isn''t worth it). Check out the benchmarks in the review as well...
