Really pushing my skills to the max, programmed a Zelda 1 NES Clone Demo. It supports state machines, multiple maps, collision, and a hub. Working towards getting enemies,AI, zelda style text boxes, and finishing the dungeon. Programmed in C++ and Allegro 5 using my own custom engine

That's really cool - nice work!

Note: Because you are using Nintendo's IP without permission, they can (and should) sue you - it doesn't matter even if your game is free. But if you used your own artwork (or freely available public domain or creative commons artwork), with your own characters and plot and such, you could even distribute and sell your game when you're done. As it stands though, Nintendo is very aggressive in protecting their property, and rightfully so considering their entire company is built upon their IP.
