DirectXMath question

I was revieweing the DirectXMath documentation and saw the following under "Code Optimization > Use Correct compilation settings" it says:

 

"For Windows x86 targets, enable /arch:SSE2. For all Windows targets, enable /fp:fast."

 

Why would you not use /arch:SSE2 for x64?
