Space Ship Frame Animation

Hello guys,

 

I´m new to this forum and I´m planning to make a space shooter and I have already got nice graphics but they aren´t animated yet.

So my problem is that I´m not good at animating and have no plan how to do that, so I wanted to ask if someone can give me some tipps or animate the images.

You don't need very complex animations, and you have many games to use as reference.

Ships can bank left and right when they go left and right (the player ships in Tyrian are a particularly good-looking example, done with 5 frames but 3 can suffice), projectiles can spin around in flight, large enemies can have moving arms (Warning Forever is a good example) and parts that open, fall off, etc. (e.g. Raiden series), explosions expand and die down.
