Attached is a quick 2D demo I made using this forum as a crutch, reaching my 2-week mile marker.. I want to say thank you.. http://home.dencity.com/drarem/devdxdemo.zip note: it will write a small 40kb file called ''test.dat'' to the directory (I think, althought it may not be working.. file loading/saving needs a little fixing).. demo: ESC = escape, use the arrow keys to move the layers around bottom and top most layers are ''looping'' scrolls the middle layer is a 32x32 tileset which does nothing at the moment cept draw at what offset into the map you want.. scrolling the tilemap is what I am planning on next. It is not well-optimized but does the job l8a I fseek, therefore I fam.

looks good man. i may be only a couple of months ahead of you but its my suggestion that you drop DirectDraw and use Direct3D8 for 2D rendering. I have been workin with DirectDraw for months and finally relizing that it is not nearly as versatile as Direct3D8 is. Unless you are overly attached to DirectDraw i suggest you check out this tutorial.

Alphablending and the other special effects that can be used are simply awesome.
