[android] My first game : Peppy's Adventure - Please give feedback :)
There's a lot of content in this game.
I wouldn't be surprised if it got popular really fast.
One thing I found a bit weird is that there are two control pads on the screen.
Also what did you use to create the graphical assets for the game, flash?
Thanks :)
I will make a video to show why the 2 control pads are useful
I used inkscape to make the graphics, it's a free vector graphics editor
With the 2 control pads you can use your two thumbs to control Peppy and change direction very quickly. Another advantage is that you can use the left pad when the character is in the area where the right pad is, so you don't obstruct the view with your finger for example.
Wow this looks great! Good job, for a first game this is really impressive!
I will try Inkscape myself, as I have been looking for a graphics program (free).
Keep up the good work! 90 levels is a tremendous amount of content, can't believe it's free!
I will post again after playing it more :)
Thank you!
I hope you like it :)
please tell me if you find some levels are too difficult, I'm currently thinking about a way to add hints in the game
Will do! Regarding the background music, what did you use to create those effects? It sounds so good, brings back a lot of nostalgia!
Background music and sound effects are the only things I didn't create, credits go to Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) for the game music and DST (nosoapradio.us) for the credits screen BGM.
I spent quite some time searching for a good royalty free and free to use music that feels good with the game though.
BTW, as promised, I would update you on the playing of the game. Overall the perception of the game itself is very professional. It definitely feels like a game made by a small studio, and not just 1 person. The presentation impressed me.
The control buttons are a little high on the screen, would have preferred them lower slightly (as they are now, my thumbs block half my screen). I am using a Galaxy Note to test.
The game is extremely well put together, the graphics, the menus, it all flows very smoothly together. The difficulty is a little on the high side, I got stuck on Level 1-3 for a few minutes, before trying something else. It's not a bad thing at all, it's quite an accomplishment! Make the user think about their moves and not just blindly run about.
Again I have to say, I am extremely impressed with the overall presentation of the game. I encourage other people to try it and provide feedback!
Keep up the GREAT work!
