Flashing in Windowed mode...

Recommended Posts

Hi, I just recently started to learn DirectX, and I''ve moved on to windowed mode now. I''m actually still using DX6 haha but I''ll move on as soon as I learn a lil'' bit more. Anyways I was hoping some of you could help me: in fullscreen mode I''m used to the goodness of buffers. Sadly, you can''t do buffers in windowed mode... and as a result, the game I''m working on flashes unacceptably. I was wondering if there is any way around this... I don''t want to use Overlays.. I''m making a pretty easy arcade game but the flashing is almost blinding! Any help and advice is appreciated! Thanks Jason Arora jason@pubism.com http://www.pubism.com

Can''t remember how it''s done in DX, but when you create your attached backbuffer blit it to the front, don''t flip it.

Oh!!!!!!! So, in other words will DirectX time my flips with Window''s own flips?
Seems too good to be true! I''ll give it a go when I get home after work. Thanks for the advice outRider
