I am making a text-based RPG and I was planning on using just the Win32 API. Since my "Tricks of the Windows Game Programming Gurus" doesn''t go into too much detail about it, I decided I need a book on Win32 API. I was thinking about "Programming Windows, The Definitive Guide to the Win32 API". Do you guys think that is a good book for me? I am a beginner by the way if you havn''t noticed.

If that''s the Petzold one (MS Press), it''s very highly recommended. It''s considered THE standard book for novice to intermediate level Win32 programming.

For advanced level Win32, "Programming Applications for Windows" by Jeffrey Richter (MS Press) is great book. (Previous editions used to be called "Advanced Windows").
