i know that, thats why i wonted to see the code befor when i was createing the device i would just try and create it and if it failed then i would try it one the ref driver, i neaver looked to see if it was becose the device did not suport the target format or the zformat or anything like that i would just try the next down, like HAL To ref to RGB ( or somthing like that that was back with DX7 ) and so i was just wonting to see his code and see if he as doing what i was doing, now i enum the surface formats to mach the adapter i am wonting to use so i dont have that prob anymore.

AP how long you been programing with DX??
i started back with DX6 or was it 5?? i ll say 6 becouse that what i remember, i know how to create a device, i likly now more about it then you, but i dont know, and i would apreshat you nolonger posting in the thread if all your going to do is bash people!!
