This is probably not the first time this has been done, but... How about if you have an iso map with differing heights. Say if you have a base ISO of 64*64 pixels and every ISO has a baseline and from this baseline a height. So, to blit the ISO you could read from bottom-right to top-left of the image: The following is crude to say the least...

   __________
  |    /\    |
  |   /  \   |
  |  /    \  |
  | /      \ |
  |/        \|
  |\        /|
  | \      / |
  |  \    /  |
  |   \  /   |
  |    \/    |
  ------------
  height=0 (flat)

   __________
  |    /\    |
  |   /  \   |
  |  /    \  |
  | /      \ |
  |/        \|
  |\        /|
  ||\      /||
  || \    / ||
  ||  \  /  ||
  ||   \/   ||
  ||   |    ||
  ||   |    ||
  ------------  <-read
  height=2 (from basline)

this way the images themselves can be different heights, without bothering about shifting imgaes up and down in memory. What''s your opinion ????? djsomers
