Hey guys, I bought the book "Beginning D3D programming" which includes the dx8sdk on the CD. Nevertheless I downloaded the directX sdk from www.download.com (138Mb). My question is this: I''m running windows XP Professional, and on dxdiag the version is 8.1. Is the sdk for version 8.0? Since XP ships with version 8.1, will i be killing the OS by installing something that''s older? Has anyone else had experience in this? rizwan

I think, there''re no major differences between version 8 and 8.1. Microsoft has just fixed some bugs. The code isn''t changed. If I don''t say the truth, correct me please.
