game feel: ASR vs ADSR

in the early stages of an arcade game, and questioning my normal approach of mario-style acceleration/deceleration/velocity/MAX_VELOCITY.

 

does anybody know of a game that has velocity rise just above MAX_VELOCITY before dropping down to MAX_VELOCITY?

 

that is, do any games use a ADSR envelope instead of just ASR?
