What Compiler do u use for DirectX?

Just wandering what the most popular Compiler everyone uses for creating DirectX games, do u prefer to use the command line commands or the visual interface (DevStudio in MS-VC)?

I can''t stand having all those buttons and menus available; I don''t want to learn how to use the IDE before I can program anything!
I use VIDE, it really leaves me alone and lets me code, but still handles the makefile and colors the compiler''s output for finding errors.

Miscro$oft Visual C++ 6.0 Professional. Usually when I want it to do something I haven''t asked it to before, I find out it has a tool built in to do it.
