Just saw this interesting article in the codeproject newsletter:




The usage of the English language in the article is somewhat peculiar, but mostly understandable ;)
I only roughly got the idea of what he is doing there, not such a math head myself.
Since I've never heard of this approach before, I thought I'd share.


I haven't understood yet in what way this is supposed to be better in quality to usual lossy compression, say, ogg vorbis. Only glanced over the article and have not seen some compression rates and not heard how it sounds yet.
He's got some prebuit binaries for windows linked (and source), so that's on the todo list.
